The name of this organization sums up the mission of the organization concisely. This non-profit was started by a juvenile who runs a mile while carrying a thin blue or red line flag for all first responders killed in the line of duty. The flag is then sent, with permission, to the fallen responder's family.
Running 4 Heroes honored my husband, Sgt. Jim Smith, in 2021. Jim was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a barricaded subject who had just assaulted a police officer. Jim had been an officer for 27 years and wanted to make a difference in this world.

Such a nice memorial to all those who died in law enforcement. I was able to meet the kid who does the running and it is truly a great organization.
